K–2 | Fridays, June 16, 23, July 7, 14, 21, 28, August 4, 11, 18 | 1 – 2:15pm
Artschooled is a program where children can create projects inspired by art currently on view at the Tampa Museum of Art. Projects are designed for children in grades K-5. All materials provided.
June 16: Sparkling Creativity: Sequined Abstract Paintings inspired by KACE
Students will explore the abstract painting style of KACE (Naeem Khan and Stanley Casselman), with a focus on the use of sequined flowers. Using KACE's work as inspiration, students will create their own abstract painting with sequined flowers on canvas.
June 23: Daisy Patton Inspired Embellished Photographs
Using vintage photographs of Tampa Bay, students will mount them on canvas and unleash their creativity with various art materials such as paint, stickers, and mixed media. They will learn about Daisy Patton's artistic process and how she uses embellishments to create depth, contrast, and meaning in her artwork.
July 7: Mosaic Madness: Ai Weiwei Style LEGO Art
Using LEGO bricks, students will create their own interpretation of Ai Weiwei's Dropping A Han Dynasty Urn (LEGO) artwork alongside their personal image, which encourages the idea of breaking with tradition and challenging established norms.

July 21: Exploring Light and Color in Frontiers of Impressionism
July 28: Magical Transformations: Mixed-Media Collages inspired by the art of Pepe Mar
August 4: Lighting up Creativity: Digital Art Inspired by Jennifer Steinkamp
August 11: Discover Additive Sculpture: Thick Skinned Style
August 18: Radial Re-imagining: inspired by Willie Cole’s Sunflower
